Play-doh for the Dispirited

  • b23 23 Greifswalder Straße Berlin, BE, 10405 Germany (map)

Facilitated by Jessica Voke

Are you feeling world-weary? Did a love rat recently break your heart, or perhaps your boss is driving you slowly mad? Are you struggling with the impossible rental market here? Is life just not quite turning out the way you expected?

Help is at hand. Join us as we work together to sculpt an enormous artwork representing the society we wish we lived in, using Play-doh!

Want to build a city with rainbow-coloured houses? Let’s do it! Where donuts grow on trees? Yes! Where your boss has been banished to live on a tiny island in the middle of crocodile infested water? DONE! At the start of the session we will host a village meeting where each inhabitant gets to propose an important element of town planning to be included. Then we’ll help one another to construct this place of wonders, with the ideas evolving as we go.

Yes, we are literally going to ‘play’ together. Yes, you are going to love it! And yes, Play-doh still smells as good as you remember.

All sculpting tools, building materials and hand sanitizer will be provided. No artistic skill required. You bring the imagination!

*In case you can't afford a regular ticket but would love to attend anyway, please send send a message to b23 (hi@b23.berlin) so they can propose a solution.

About the facilitator

Jessica Voke (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist, which is a fancy way of saying that she works with a plethora of materials in order to explore such subjects as life, death, and everything in between. She also works with community groups, empowering people to embrace creative practices as a part of daily life. Art-making can provide us with a voice and a way of making sense of things. It can also be fun, therapeutic, and grounding.
