Hosted by Mina Lange
Imbolc or Lichtmess marks the tangible return of the sun as the days get longer and the first flowers and leaves poke out of the snow. It can be an energizing but also vulnerable time when we come back out of our shells.
This cacao ceremony aims to create a space in which we can allow the shift from winter to spring to take place, an inner spring cleaning if you will. The restorative yoga postures help us to get in touch with some of the things that might have crystallized in the deep darkness of winter, to keep or to release.
Imbolc is also know as the beginnings of beginnings and it can be a powerful moment to set intentions for the year to come.
What to expect:
Cacao: We drink a warm cup of ceremonial grade raw cacao, that facilitates on open heart and mind, to keep our focus as we rest for longer periods of time in the postures.
Restorative Yoga: In restorative yoga we hold postures between 5 - 20min. As opposed to a yin class, we want very little intensity in the postures, allowing the nervous system to truly calm down and allow for a meditative state to occur. No previous yoga experience is necessary for that.
Yoga Nidra: We finish with a yoga nidra journey, starting with a body scan in our extended savasana to explore the realm between awake and asleep, this and the other.
What to bring:
Please bring comfortable clothes, warm socks and a comfy sweater, also your own mug to drink your cup of cacao.
Although we will be drinking a milder ceremonial dose of cacao, please let Mina know if you have high blood pressure, are taking anti-depressants or are pregnant so together you can adjust the dose.

About the facilitator
Mina is a C-IAYT yoga therapist, yoga teacher (RYT 500) and a counselling psychologists (HP Psych) based in Berlin.
Mina has always wanted to see behind the veil. Her mom took her to her first dance class in Japan at age 3 and ever since, dancing made her feel like she was connecting to something grater than all of us though the body, but what? First she thought it might help to literally understand how the human body works and wanted to study medicine. But then she intuited that fashion was a better way to approach metaphysics, or was it? She spend more time studying Western philosophy during her time at the art uni in Berlin than sewing clothes. After a short love affair with mixed martial arts, she belly danced for a living in Dakar, Senegal before opening a yoga studio there, which felt closer to what she was looking for but not quite. After becoming a mom she returned to Berlin. She became a licensed psychological counsellor and a yoga therapist, so that she could really listen to the people she was working with and cater to their needs on a much more individual level. This connection she feels to her clients, is the closest she currently feels to seeing behind the veil.
