Sarah & Uta from Yoga on the Move are inviting you to a magical full moon retreat for all your senses including raw cacao, intuitive free movement, mantra chanting, yin yoga and a guided full moon ritual. We will share with you stories and wisdoms of the moon, and help you to reconnect your body and mind deeply to strengthen your inner, intuitive wisdom.
We combine the effects of pure cacao with the healing effect of chanting mantras and yoga to connect with our hearts and to release what no longer serves us.
We begin the journey to ourselves with a cacao ceremony to move from the head to the heart. The plant of cacao is considered an alternative medicine that can assist us in healing and transformation. The benefits of cacao are many, ranging from a gentle energy boost through theobromine to a stimulator of happiness, pleasure and motivation through serotonin and dopamine production. Cacao is also highly nutritious and contains vitamins, antioxidants, many minerals and healthy fats.
For our ceremony we use the pure, organically grown and fair trade cacao "Arhuaca" from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in northern Colombia by moruga. In the midst of untouched rainforest and the highest peak in the northern Andes grows this special cacao, which is cultivated there by the indigenous Arhuaco people in accordance with their tribal tradition. Its unusual white beans and very unusual looking cacao pods carry a cinnamon, sesame and licorice-like character. After moving our physical body & creating space around our hearts, we will open up our voices with a Mantra Chanting circle, to release blockages that we often hold around the Throat. The Mantra circle, or Kirtan, will be guided by Uta playing her Harmonium. Mantras are sanskrit words or phrases with a positive vibration that has a calming effect on our nervous system and give peace of mind.
FULL MOON IN VIRGO
In March, the full moon is in the zodiac sign of Virgo, which is known for its calm nature and its down-to-earthness. The ancient origin of the Virgo symbol is a virgin which represented the highest ideal of purification. It was believed a woman was most connected to god before she was introduced to sexuality. While this old view of Virgo is an outdated patriarchal ideal, the sign still represents purity, fertility and spiritual devotion. Keywords for Virgo: purification, control, analysis, refinement.
This sign is about cleansing and healing on a soul level to attain liberation. This Full Moon we can use the powerful Virgo energy to cleanse and purify our own lives.
At this full moon retreat we will explore different ways to do this – through ritual, through cleansing and detoxing our bodies, or through our minds – using breathwork and chanting.
