Do you think you are not flexible enough for yoga? Or you assume it’s only for people of a certain body type or gender? Are you afraid you’ll have to demonstrate difficult acrobatic postures while all eyes are staring at you? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, this one might be for you.
This workshop is for everyone out there who has always wondered what it would be like to jump on a mat and do some yoga in a group setting. It’s especially designed for people who have zero to little experience. Regular yoga practitioners who are seeking a step by step explanation of some of the most fundamental elements are also welcome.
In a safe and judgment-free environment you are invited to be curious, discover and ask as many questions as you like. After a short introduction on yoga we’ll proceed to learn the proper way of breathing and how to synchronize breath with movement.
From there we’ll get comfortable with a basic sun salutation. Adding on, we’ll look into fundamental asanas (postures) in a playful workshop setting using props like blankets and belts. Leaving the best for the end, we’ll engage in a beginner friendly meditation technique and a deep relaxation exercise.
You will feel encouraged to pick up your practice from there and gain the confidence to attend classes.
